The Pink Blanket

Cassee has a certain pink blanket ('B' to her) that she takes everywhere. Of course it looks awful. Stains everywhere and the hem ripping out. We have convinced her to leave it in the car when we go into a store or restaurant. However, we are not so lucky when we get to church. Every Sunday she throws a fit by the car door that she just has to have it in church. Since we are trying to feel peaceful and reverence as we walk into the door of the church, we feel it not worth the battle. Yet as soon as she gets into the doors she hands one of us the blanket and says she can't carry it. Much to my annoyance, I usually end up toting it around church for the rest of the time. A few weeks ago we all got into the car and realized that no one had the 'B'. Dan and I spent 10 minutes or more searching every part of the church she had been to, to no avail. We were about to give up and call it lost, but Dan did one more sweep of the building. He finally found it on the dark stage where Cassee had run up onto with Emmalynn. It was saved. We used that incident as leverage for the following weeks after. It seemed to work well. We started congratulating ourselves a little too soon. Today the 'B' rejoined us at church once again. (However, since the building was very cold, I ended up using it for the last hour! Maybe I shouldn't complain too loudly!!)
