The Kindergarten Queen

Cassidee is in Kindergarten this year and is loving it. She has a fabulous teacher too.
Cassee passed her goal of 30 sight words a few weeks ago. She's learning so much and loves to read with me.
Her hearing greatly improved due to the little surgery she had done last year. Her speech has improved a lot too.
A couple months ago it was Cassee's week at school to be spotlighted in her class.
Her teacher sent home a poster that we were supposed to color and fill out. Some of the sections were name, family, favorite color, favorite food, etc.
Then at the bottom it asked for what she wanted to be when she grew up. I asked Cassidee that question and she confidently said, "Queen". I said ok and wrote that down on her poster. I thought that was a typical answer for a 5 year old.
A few days later I went to the school and chatted with her teacher. She commented that all the girls that had been spotlighted up until then had all said they wanted to be a "Princess". Cassee was the first to say Queen.
What a clever little girl! Go straight to the top!!

First Day of Kindergarten

Cassidee started Kindergarten this last Monday. She was very excited.
Here she is ready and waiting at home in the morning.

Here she is getting on Miss Elizabeth's bus.

This is Mrs. Lopez, her long term sub for one month.

And here's Mrs. Wagner, the aid.

Here she is at the end of the day. She had lots of fun and knows a couple of the girls in her class already.

Yeah for Cassidee.

A Broken Arm

A few days ago something crazy happened to Cassee.
She was playing with Preston at Jill's house. They were on the bed downstairs. There was a laundry basket and a pillow. Preston did not push her. Cassidee did not fall off the bed. Yet, somehow she fell over the basket and landed on the bed and managed to break her arm!
So now, tomorrow we head to the doctor's office to get a cast put on her arm. It will be water-proof, so hopefully that won't ruin her whole summer!

Cassidee's Preschool Graduation

Cassidee finished her first full year of preschool at Esperanza Preschool in Farmington in May.
She looked so grown up in her cap and gown.
Here's her class. (And the afternoon kids too.)

I loved this small smile I got out of her. I think I was distracting her.

Here she's singing a song. She's very focused on watching her teacher and doing all the right actions. Her teacher said she was a good example to her class all the time.

Here she is getting her "diploma".

Yeah, she did it!

This is a guitar we made for one of her songs. All the kids were so funny playing their guitars. Pink is her favorite color again.

Here's she is showing me her spot.

This is her teacher, Miss Kelly. She was great. Cassee loved her a lot.

These are the classroom aides/helpers, Miss Henrietta and Miss Ko.

Daddy and little brothers, Adam and Andrew came to cheer her on.

And of course Mom too.

Good job Cassidee for all your hard work this year. You did great.
Now she's all ready for Kindergarten!

Cassee's 5th Birthday

Cassee had her first friend birthday party.
We had about 8 other kids at the house.
Here they are playing with balloons.

Here's the table where we decorated flower pots and filled them with candy. And decorated cupcakes.

We had "flower" cupcakes for her cake this year.

Here's the birthday girl with her 5 candles!

You gotta love the "blowing-out-the-candles shot!

She got lots of great gifts from everyone.

Including a t-ball set, bat, balls, and baseball mitt from Mom and Dad!
She's quite the little baseball player already. Grandpapa's so proud!
Happy Birthday Cassidee!

Best Sisters

Today Cassee told me that Emmalynn was her best friend. I hope she remembers that when she's 14!
